In the pictures above Dr. Rick Holm and his dental hygienist, Betsy Rangel are setting up the dental clinic. ADIZ NGO provided us the space and located the dental chair. With a little work it was stable and usable. In the background is the portable dental drill provided by Milt Camp and the "Flying Doctors" organization. It worked perfectly!
Dr. Rick and Betsy begin their work. They worked LONG hours for four days. In the end there were still patients waiting for dental services that we had to turn away. God willing, we will be back next January with more free dental services.
The final accounting indicated the dental team provided $28,000 (US value) worth of dental services to people who could not afford to see a dentist. The abscess and infection of a couple of patients was so severe it could have, and probably would have, resulted in death without dental care.
